What is Family Night Out?
At Love Thy Family Project, we believe that strong families build strong communities. Yet, for many families facing financial challenges, simple joys like dinner at a restaurant, a trip to the zoo, or a movie night can feel out of reach.
That’s why we created Family Night Out — a program designed to give families the gift of time together.

Through Family Night Out, we provide free family experiences such as:

Dinner outings at local restaurants

Family-friendly movies or entertainment

Putt-putt, bowling, museums, or special attractions

Other memory-making activities chosen with each family in mind

These nights aren’t just about fun — they’re about creating lasting memories, deepening bonds, and reminding families that they are loved and supported. It’s a reminder of God’s goodness, a breath of joy in the middle of struggle, and a way for families to reconnect with one another.

When families laugh, share a meal, and experience new things together, it strengthens their hearts and creates hope for tomorrow.
Family Night Out is our way of saying: You are not forgotten. You are loved. And your family matters.

Who is Eligible for Family Night Out?
At Love Thy Family Project, we believe every family deserves moments of joy, connection, and rest. To make sure our program reaches families with the greatest need, we ask that applicants meet the following qualifications:

Two-Parent Household: Both parents/guardians must live in the home with one or more children.

Children in the Home: At least one child must be living in the household (school-aged or younger).

Louisiana Residency: Families must live in the Lake Charles Area and provide proof of residency (such as a driver’s license, lease, or utility bill).

Financial Need: Families should meet income requirements based on federal poverty guidelines for household size. Documentation may include a recent pay stub, benefits letter, or tax return.

Commitment to Participation: Families agree to attend scheduled outings and use this gift as a way to strengthen their family bond.
Important Note: We welcome applications from families of all backgrounds and faiths. Our mission is to share love, faith, and joyful experiences with those who need it most.
How to Apply
Applying for Family Night Out is simple! Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Complete the Family Application
Fill out the Family Night Out Application Form with your household information, income details, and outing preferences. You can:

Fill it out online through our website

Or pick up a paper form at one of our partner churches or community locations

Step 2: Gather Required Documents
Please include proof of:

Residency (ex: driver’s license, utility bill, or lease)

Household income (ex: pay stub, tax return, or benefits letter)
-
Family structure (two parents/guardians and at least one child in the home)

Step 3: Send In Your Application
You can return your completed application and documents by:

Step 4: Wait for Approval
Our team will review your application and contact you if any additional information is needed. Once approved, we’ll schedule your family’s special night out! Please allow 1-3 weeks for processing.
