STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

At Love Thy Family Project, we believe that strong families build strong futures — and that includes supporting the next generation of leaders.

Many students have the grades, the determination, and the heart to pursue college, but family circumstances or financial burdens stand in the way. That’s where our Student Scholarship Program comes in.

Through this program, we provide scholarship support to students who:

Maintain strong academic performance
Demonstrate leadership, faith, or community involvement
Show a clear commitment to pursuing college or further education
Face financial or family challenges that create barriers to higher education

These scholarships are designed to bridge the gap — helping students move forward in their education and fulfill the potential God has placed within them.

When we invest in students, we invest in families and communities for generations to come.

How to Apply for the Student Scholarship Program

We’re excited to support students who are working hard, dreaming big, and pushing through challenges. If you’re ready to take the next step toward your future, follow these steps to apply:

Step 1: Complete the Scholarship Application

Fill out the Student Scholarship Application Form with your personal information, academic background, and future goals.
You can:

Download the form and fill it out by hand
Complete the form online through our website
Pick up a paper copy at partner schools, churches, or community centers

Step 2: Gather Required Documents

Please include the following with your application:

Academic transcript (most recent semester or year)
Personal statement or essay sharing your goals, challenges, and why you’re applying
Letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, pastor, or community leader
Proof of financial need (such as FAFSA info, household income, or a brief explanation of family circumstances)

Step 3: Submit Your Application

You can return your completed application and documents by:

Please allow 1–3 weeks for the review process.
Our team will evaluate applications based on academic performance, personal drive, financial need, and alignment with our mission. Selected students will be notified by email or phone.

Eligibility Criteria:

High school junior, senior, or recent graduate
Louisiana resident in or around Lake Charles, LA
Minimum GPA of 2.8 or equivalent
Demonstrated financial need
Clear commitment to attending college at McNeese State University

Scholarship Awards:

Amounts vary depending on available funding
May be applied toward tuition, books, housing, or other educational expenses
Renewable opportunities may be available for students who maintain academic progress
